On the coast below Plaka and Trypiti is the fishing village, Klima. Trypiti is also where the Venus de Milo was discovered. In nearby Trypiti, there are the Catacombs of Milos dating back to the 1st century A.D., they are among the oldest in the world. This is the liveliest village with spectacular sunset views, authentic tavernas, and local shopping. Plan on visiting the capital, Plaka, at least once. Across a narrow channel from Pollonia is Kimolos, a charming little island with dozens of sandy beaches and one traditional village, making for a perfectly serene getaway. Pollonia is a little more upscale, but nothing too chichi. Adamas has a little more nightlife (but not much). Both are great for walking, shopping, eating, and evening strolls.
